AEM UI Development for JPMorgan Chase – Private Bank

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is an American multinational financial services firm and is one of LTIMindtree clients. I joined JPMC as a AEM developer after clearing their interview process, which included machine test, coding digest and some operation stuff… I was part of their Private Banking team and was inactively participating in developing AEM components for their AEM powered website (https://privatebank.jpmorgan.com/) I started with some simple UI updates then got into the main matters. Though all the component I worked on has some level of complexity, I was particularly excited to share a few that challenged my skills.

JPMC - In-Page Sticky Nav

In-Page Sticky Nav: This component is new and specifically designed to improve the user experience of long form pages where there are lot of content to consume. This AEM component is called “In-Page Sticky Nav”, this allows authors to create segregation and make the content easier to consume and also easier to navigate to. The component is nothing ground breaking but in the world of AEM this maybe something tricky as creating links between other component is almost next to impossible (unless your authors are wiz coders themselves). So this component took some back and forth time in the drawing board and the final results were quite simple yet very effective, both for the authors to create and also for end users to consume seamlessly. JPMC - Stacking Cards

Stacking Cards: This component is a component which is both modern yet highly engaging… It is officially called as “Stacking Cards”, the reason why I love this component is its simplicity like a pack of cards. Unlike other components, this components stands out in crowd of other components stacked one after other, it works more like a list styled like cards but the UX is made in such a way that it gives an experience of stacking card on top of each other. The interaction is via mouse scroll in desktop and touch scroll in mobile, this component has lot of potential to show the users a list of items without making them feel like they are reading long page content. The best part about this component is it works perfectly in mobile devices as well without a flaw. Click here to see this component in action.

JPMC - Text Hero

The above two AEM component are live as of now and more components are being reviewed authors and they will see light sooner I believe. In a short span of less than 10 months, I managed to give life to some 7-8 component and fix issues with the existing components if needed. This was a very short phase but I had fun. If you want to know more, buy me a coffee, let’s discuss. Ciao.
